Last night I finished up the evening with a go at doing the interval training program they gave me on the BLC site on my exercise bike. Oh boy am I unfit! Could only get up as far as 20 minutes, but at least I did get 2/3 of the way through. This morning, though, I pushed myself to get all the way through 30 min of steady state, as well as 3 sets of 12 reps of situps on my fitball (ouch!), 3 sets of core strength exercises on it (amazing how hard it is to hold one leg up for 20 seconds) and a couple of rounds of stretches. The main motivation for all this? I dug out a training diary I got when I was setting out with personal training, which ended up collecting dust after I hurt my knee. What a difference writing out your planned workouts, and ticking them off as you do them, can make!
Anyway, after all that I set out to make my breakfast. Oh boy, I don’t think I’ve seen the sink piled with so many dishes as that omelette of champions recipe on the diet gave me (took a few tries to work out what to mix my eggwhite powder in). I suspect I know where the name comes from – Not only was it a champion effort just to get through it, but another one cleaning up afterwards!!! Then I had to have about 3 times the amount of cereal I usually would. Once before I did the home delivery diet programs, and never was able to get through all the food they sent me – I’m hoping this isn’t going to be the same, because I felt terrible about all the food I had to throw out on that one!!Anyway, am feeling pretty upbeat and positive. I’m going to make another attempt on the interval training tonight – wish me luck?
